Charles Reid was a great American master watercolorist. His paintings are fresh and light, with saturated yet balanced colors. Reid was an expert on painting light, keeping colors fresh and exciting, as well as creating precise underdrawings and rich compositions.
Reid describes and recommends this color palette in his book “Portrait Painting in Watercolor” (1989). This book is a great resource for anyone who wants to learn how to mix colors and paint portraits.
