This set can be used on its own for subtle color art, but the best way to use it is as an extension to any bright and saturated set. Each of the 12 ‘modifying’ colors brings its own subtle powers to the mixes!
The criteria for the colors in the Modifying Subtle Set were: 1) colors that can gently tone down other colors without changing them dramatically; 2) colors that do not add mud to the mixes, even when used in large amounts; and 3) unique colors that are different from each other in temperatures and textures.
