All of these papers were made in the historic Cartiere Magnani paper mill in Pescia, Italy, which manufactured paper for 610 years (1404-2014) using its own water turbines! It is one of the oldest paper mills in the world. This mill historically produced high-quality, handmade and mould-made papers, serving figures like Napoleon and artists like Morandi. In the 1990s, the mill reduced its large-scale operations and transformed the site into the Pescia Paper Museum.
The paper series used to make all these sketchbooks is called Revere. It’s mould-made and 100% cotton. These papers were introduced in 2009 and manufactured until 2014, when the production at a historic site was closed. This paper is no longer available.
All papers in this series are 100% cotton, neutral pH, chlorine-free, and acid-free.
All papers are suitable for calligraphy, all drawing techniques, and water media.
Size: 6" x 7.5" (landscape format), 10 sheets (20 pages).
Some sketchbooks can be a few millimeters off due to hand measurement and cutting.
The covers are made with sturdy dark blue cardstock.
There is a wide variety of paper: 5 shades of white, three different weights, and three types of textures.
I hope you give these sketcbhooks a try!
